FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS YOUR CORKAGE POLICY?
Chef BK has carefully selected wine and sake to pair with each course. If you would like to bring a special bottle in, we do charge a corkage fee of $50 per bottle. We also ask that you do not bring bottles that are already represented on our beverage menu.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
We have many guests who join us for special occasions therefore smart casual attire is recommended.
Do you accommodate food allergies and dietary restrictions?
A gluten-free omakase is available upon request. Due to our seafood-focused menu, we unfortunately cannot accommodate kosher, vegetarian or vegan diets as well as soy or sugar allergies. We try to make the fewest number of changes possible when accommodating dietary restrictions so that our guests may enjoy the menu as Chef BK has envisioned. If you have any questions regarding allergies or dietary restrictions, please email info@makochicago.com.
Can I get a refund once purchased? Can I exchange my reservation for a different night?
Due to the amount of preparation for our omakase, deposits on reservations cancelled within 48 hours prior to the reservation cannot be refunded. If you cannot make your reservation, we recommend that you transfer your reservation to another person. Please email info@makochicago.com as soon as possible should you need to change the date or time of your reservation.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Due to the preparation required for our omakase, we cannot accommodate walk-in customers. However, we do accept same-day reservations until 2pm depending on availability.
Do you offer valet?
We do not have valet service. However, there is street parking along Halsted St and Lake St as well as a parking lot located directly across from our location.
Do you have a wait list?
Yes, we do offer a wait list if you do not see a date/time you are looking for. Please select “Join Waitlist” next to the time/date on Tock and we will contact you if a reservation becomes available.
Are children allowed?
While we do not prohibit children, we strongly discourage children under the age of 10, due not only to the length of the meal but also potential disruption to other guests. If you would like to bring your child, kindly note that you would be required to purchase a seat for them and that they would receive the same tasting menu.
Who should I contact if I am running late?
Please call us at (312) 988-0687 if you are running late for your reservation. Because of the simultaneous coursing of the dining room, late guests will join at the course currently being served at their time of arrival and per the chef’s discretion.

While we do not have a private dining room, we do offer buy-outs. Please fill out the private events form at https://www.exploretock.com/mako/private-dining for more information.
